Introducing the
I Am A Genius Campaign
The I Am A Genius campaign is a bold reimagining of brilliance, who holds it, who names it, and how it lives among us. Inspired by Sam White’s leadership as the only Black woman founder of a theatre company in Detroit, this project honors other leaders and changemakers who walk quietly in their genius, leading, building, and shaping our communities without always receiving the recognition they deserve.
I Am A Genius is a visual and narrative tribute to power, presence, and legacy. It challenges us to expand our definition of genius, not as something rare or distant, but as something lived, embodied, and accessible.
Stay tuned for the third iteration of the campaign coming in 2027 with a new team, new look and more GENIUS!

2025 Geniuses | Black Women Leaders
The inaugural I Am A Genius campaign featured 11 Black women leaders, CEOs, and changemakers whose work continues to shape and strengthen the city of Detroit. This first cohort honored the brilliance, leadership, and lasting impact of women driving progress across industries and communities.
